Ho! Ho! Ho!

For the last couple of years we have had a little "concert/recital" at our house. It use to be a chance for our boys to show of their skills to unexpecting guests. Now, since Michelle started teaching piano, we get to hear from her students. This year we got to hear Dustin play Allstar on his guitar (this was self taught). We were treated to all the verses and just when we thought it was over his eyes darted back to the front page. It was awesome!!! Caden tickled the ivory's with a few of his favorite Christmas songs. Then some of the guests surprised us with some outstanding piano playing. We probably should have warned them that we only invite kids that we can outshine, so there might be some openings next year. Dillon decided against running upstairs and giving us a drum solo this year and Brennen has turned in his french horn. Then at the end of the evening Santa stopped by. I'm sure he heard the music and couldn't resist. It was a lot of fun. The highlight of the evening was little Connor with Santa Clause. (mike and michelle's oldest) He was so cute. He kept giving Santa hugs and telling him he wanted whatever the other kids asked for. Now we get to anxiously await Santa's big arrival in just THREE MORE DAYS. As the chipmunks say "hurry Christmas hurry fast, we've been good but it won't last!"

this ain't my 1st rodeo

Jake and I went to the NFR monday night. It was a good time and I broke out the red boots for the occasion. I don't think they have been out of the closet for years but the dust just added to the atmosphere. I have to say that when I get to go to the rodeo it makes me a little home-sick for the "ditch" (Panguitch). These red boots have seen a lot of rodeo and dances afterwards. When we would go to the rodeo out at bryce canyon my sister and cousins use to take the cadillac and pull it right down to the fence with the all the trucks. The cowboys laughed but it always managed to climb back out. (hope grandma doesn't mind) Then there was the 24th of July, the rodeo would go on for 4 or 5 days and they had dances every night. Now those were good times.
The best thing about the red boots is that grandma has a pair just like them!

I could go on forever with the memories so I'll stop.

(Nan the boots fit fine, even though you stuck you big foot in them to wear to the Chris Ladoux (sp?) concert)

"tis the season"

Last night we had our ward Christmas party. We had a great time and came home and chilled on the couch. Then this morning Caden comes into the bedroom and tells us that he threw up 3 times last night. Jake jumped right up and I heard the shampooer going so I stayed in my nice warm bed. (shampooing is a one man job, right?) Anyways, it turns out that he threw up once, came in and we were sleeping so peacefully (or I was he claims Jake was snoring) that he decided not to disturb us. Then he continued to throw up twice more. I can't believe we, or Jake, didn't wake up. So I went over the rules with the boys like it's easier to wash bedding then to shampoo carpet and pillows are disposable. Now the rest of us are anxiously awaiting our turn. But I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that it was salmonella or botulism and he was the only one that partook. If not at least we will all be a little skinnier come Christmas! HO HO HO

Broke out my Kenny & Dolly Christmas CD today. Now it's really looking (or sounding) a lot like Christmas.

"a little work done?"

Michelle and I thought that the family website needed a little spice so we spiced it up. I thought it was hilarious so.... I've decided to share.

Robin's Procedure

Michelle Roe - Dec 5, 2007

The last 4 days I've been pretty tired, cause I've had the Marshall boys. Robin didn't want anybody to know but I'm sick of this. For an early christmas present she got a little work done. She looks fabulous. With her upper area bigger it totally made her lower half of her body look that much smaller. (even though she's already tiny) She said the pain was almost unbearable but only lasted about 3 days. I think she looks fantastic. And when I'm done having kids I think I might get an enhancement also. Way to go Robin you look great!

Read what others had to say:
(my sister responded first only after calling me to let me know Michelle was a snitch. She thought I might want to make Michelle remove it before mom and dad saw.)

Nan Roe - Dec 5, 2007

What??? Way to do it before Mom & Dad get home! I didn't think Robin was so vain! She gave me crap for getting my eye brows done and called me vain!

(I realized that everyone had viewed but no replies so ...)

Robin Roe - Dec 5, 2007

Way to go Michelle!!! When you have a secret you can bet it will be safe with her!

j/k michelle and i just thought this site was needing some spice. it was getting pretty dull. but thanks for the call nan i can't believe you fell for it. i've always said it's not that i'm not vain, it's just that i have a problem with "elective-surgery". there is no way i would elect to have surgery and my vanity is wearing off the older i get. lol! michelle i was laughing so hard when i read this good job.

Nan Roe - Dec 6, 2007

Ahh, Robin, you gave in too soon before we saw everyone's reaction. Were you getting worried about your reputation?

Michelle Roe - Dec 6, 2007

i don't think people thought it was as funny as robin and i did. i'll have to work on my lying skills.

Megan Roe - Dec 6, 2007 (sister-in-law)

Umm. Your lying skills are perfect. I totally believed it and called Ryan right away. I just didn't know what to say on the Web site. Congratulations Robin?
I just couldn't believe that Michelle would out Robin on the family Web site.
Hilarious, girls. You definitely fooled me.

Tauna Roe - Dec 6, 2007 (sister-in-law)

ditto what megan said! Thats exactly what I did..... I called john and said "okay....are you ready for this..... and then I read it to him. John was mostly concerned about you michelle..... telling a secret on the family web site. but then I thought that maybe that was a planned thing cuz, how was robin going to let us know what she just went through..... she's not just going to get on the site and say "hey family... guess what I just did!" So I thought that this was a good way to let us all in on what was going on in her life.
wow.... that's what I call some spice'n up the web site!! so funny!

Nan Roe - Dec 6, 2007 (sister)

oh my heck Michelle. I laughed and laughed my head off once I knew it wasn't real. You and Megan should go in together to write a book. I just don't think anyone has been on yet.

Jim Roe - Dec 7, 2007 (sister-in-law)

I still think it could be real. Robin next time i see you I will sure be looking(better not wear a tight shirt) -- kara

Judi Roe - Dec 7, 2007 (mom)

I fell for it. This is great and it did spice up the web site. You all are so great.

Yeh...the boys stayed out of this one but it was a good laugh. Can't believe my dad didn't respond? (sarcasm) And yes I did get my Christmas up. I'll post picts as soon as I take them.
