a little glooming and dooming

My thoughts on the last remaining candidates.

Hillary:
She looks like she's done but you can't count out the Clinton's. I am going to miss Bill though, he gave me some good laughs. Someone once compared him to an alcoholic uncle. Fun to have around and laugh at but you might want to lock him in the closet when company is over. Also seriously if Obama was to have an "accident", if you were to be honest, the Clintons would be first to cross your mind.

Huckabe:
He was only in it to make sure a Mormon didn't become president. Now that Mitt pulled out he is just staying in so it won't be painfully obvious.

McCain:
Has temper. Really old. Married to a grandma barbie doll. Totally ticked me off when he attacked Romney. But, the only candidate that will protect the country.

Obama:
Seems like a really nice guy if I was voting for class president he would totally get my vote. But, he opens his mouth about policy and totally scares the CRAP out of me.

So here I am and my options don't look good. I will be voting for McCain at the convention now :( but I predict Obama will win the big race. So I'm taking inventory on food storage, just redid our 72 hr. kits and saving for the rainy days to come.

Thanks for the insight! I too will be voting for McCain. I'm all about protecting our country and he is the only one left to do it!

Robin, You rock! I totally agree. I saw the best bumper sticker it says, Monica's ex-boyfriend's wife for president. It made me laugh my butt off. As for McCain. I HATE Him. Everytime he speaks I get sick to my stomach. I don't know if he will be good for our protection. We need to get out of Iraq, but we need to do it right. I feel I have to be true to my Republican party but I will not vote for him! Looks like I will be voting for the rookie - with no experience, who knows crap about anything important. I want a new choice!!!

I love you, Robin. You are hilarious. I laughed hard at all you wrote because it's so true - the grandma Barbie doll and all. Hey, what do you think about the whole McCain/lobbyist romance rumors?

I just heard about the supposed romance but, what about the rumor that he dumped his wife when she had MS and married his model wife? And Christy I would love to hear more of your military insights. I thought the military loved McCain. I don't think I can stomach Obama's love of the UN talk about wasting money.

My views are not necessarily the military views, but after having a great political discussion with other spouses, I found we are all on the same page. Iraq should not be the main focus of the election but I am afraid it is. We went in there under misconceptions - but we still needed to go. We did what we needed to do (get rid of Sadam) now we need to leave. They don't want us there and we will not change their views. They will fight with each other forever. They have since before Christ. They will have no respect for women, ever. And they are not going to give us their oil. So we need to leave and find others ways to get our fuel. We will not turn them into a little America. There are soldiers who are doing their 5th tour in Iraq. Husbands, wives, moms, dads are away from their families for 15 months, for what? The Military family is dying. I am sure that is what the military wants, it's expensive to support the family, single divorced soldiers are so much cheaper. We like to joke here when we can't get certain things by says, the military didn't issue you your family, therefore it's not their concern. I must say they did just start offering free child care (16 hours a month) to families with a deployed soldier. This has been a great help to me, when it comes to getting a little me time. Well, you asked, and I am sure you got an ear full. Sorry.

Wow,so many views. I ditto all of Robins points and now I just need to get caught up on the 72 hour kits. I think McCains wife will be the butt of many jokes if they win. She couldn't be more plastic and I honestly wonder if she has a personality. But I guess she is a duplicate of McCain.

Christy, that was very interesting. We hear it so differently on the news or from those being deployed around here. I really respect all of you.

Thanks for sharing Christy. I don't really like McCain I'm only voting for him at the convention because Mitt asked his delegates to. No way in h*#% am I giving my little delegate vote to Huckaberry.
I know I wasn't really clear but I don't know how I'll vote in the big race. Part of me thinks that Obama will sing a slightly different tune when he has the job. When Lincoln was running he promised he wouldn't fight a civil war against the south. But,once he was in office he saw there was no other way. I'm also not saying we won't be needing our 72 hr kits if McCain gets in.
On a side note, does anyone else think that the show 24 was the best campaign tool Obama had? Every time I see him he reminds me of the president on that show.

maybe we should all just move to canada :P

The more I read about Obama the more he also scares me. I think the president on 24 is way better looking. That is so cool you are a delegate. How did you get that job? I am not very politically knowledgable so I probably shouldn't bash on the candiates until I learn more about them. I will really be reading up since I have to make a decision and I really don't know who to vote for. Usually I just go republican but I am not sure it's that easy this time.
