it was only a matter of time

When I went to drop Dustin off at school today he surprises me with "um...I forgot my shoes". So I had to play with him a little. I told him not to worry I would have dad drop them off. He's like "mom I am not going to school without my shoes!?" So I offered him my slippers. He relaxed when I made the corner and turned towards home. But he couldn't find them once we got home and I thought crap he left them at the pool, but they were in his swim bag. After all that I still got him there on time. He's so la-dee-da you can't help but love him!

Uh, I think it's funny that he made it so far to the car before realizing he didn't have his shoes. And I can totally hear you offering your slippers. Funny.

I love that you are so calm. Kaitlyn didn't have her shoes and socks on when it was time to leave and I screamed my head off at her. I need to start using your attitude of finding humor in everything. You have lucky kids.

I tried everything to be late for school... never thought about forgetting my shoes though... hahaha.

That's awesome you got him back on time, but I would have made him wear the slippers! :)

My heck he is just like Richie. I have to tell Richie to do things one thing at a time or he'll forget. We will be in Logan before he'll remember he didn't bring his shoes.
Christy, humor comes w/ the mood. Sometimes I can be so laid back but others I'm just not in the mood. Robin is a great example to us all.

You should have made him wear the slippers...at least in the car! You are hilarious!

That kid is hilarious. I love that it's warm enough to forget your shoes. Here you know if you step outside (or in the garage) and you don't have your shoes on.

This reminds me of when we were at the Roe reunion in Red Canyon two years ago. We were sitting at a picnic table by one of the cabins and Megan and I were telling Mike and Michelle that Megan was pregnant but we didn't want anyone to know. As soon as I said not to tell anyone I looked around to see if anyone was around. Dustin was laying next to the porch three feet away from us. He was on his side in the dirt playing his Nintendo DS. We could have been plotting a bank robbery and he wouldn't have known the difference.

I have to tell you Ryan is the exact same way and he is 32 years old! La-de-da says it all. You are so patient.
I am sorry we didn't call you while we were in Vegas... but now that you mentioned it I might need a place to say on March 15th and someone to pick me and the girls up from the airport that night. Can I ask you to do that or is that too much?

No lie - Riley did the same thing about a month ago! Luckily I caught it before we got out of the garage!
